Elijah Adebayo, the Hatters attacker, was subjected to racial taunts on his Instagram account on Wednesday night.
Nearly a year after Adebayo was first the target of racist taunts, his team released a forceful statement in support of their player in the wake of the abuse.
Luton Town declared: “We will stand by and support Elijah without reservation, exactly as we stated a year ago and as we will do EVERY TIME a player or staff member is the target of abuse.
“To the coward who foolishly sent a direct message to Elijah: You and we both know who you are.
You are not an anonymous account, as we have regrettably been used to covering in recent years.
But as if you’re brave enough to confront him in person at Kenilworth Road.
We challenge you. If you do, you’ll see Elijah standing next to everyone else from Luton Town Football Club.
