The final report of the public investigation into the 2017 west London fire that claimed 72 lives was released on Wednesday.
It also criticized the “systematic dishonesty” of the companies producing the materials and accused successive governments of “failing to act” despite knowing the risks associated with specific cladding and insulation.
On the Electoral Dysfunction podcast on News, however, the Labour peer criticized the seven-year investigation as “too long” and urged the police to press charges more quickly.
According to Ms. Harman, she could see why governments would not set deadlines for public probes since “they should take as it.
She did, however, add, “I really feel that seven years is too long. Additionally, time constraints are in place in other nations. Therefore, I believe that seven years is too long, even if you complete a comprehensive report after three and a half years and you may need to complete some additional work.
