The law, which goes into effect on April 4, 2024, places a heavy financial burden on travelers to make sure they have enough money to spend while they are in the country of Sweden.

Along with their visa applications, applicants must provide bank statements showing transactions from the previous six months. These declarations provide concrete evidence that they have enough money to support themselves while they are in Sweden. The recommended daily allowance for meeting visitation expenses is 80 euros.
