No formal talks with the former ruling party have begun, according to Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, hours after a “breakthrough” between the PTI and the federal government was reported to have been reached to defuse the current political escalation amid the PTI’s threat of civil disobedience.
“National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif did not meet at his residence,” the minister stated during an appearance on the news show Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath on Wednesday.
Following the “icebreaker” meeting between the NA speaker and prominent PTI figures, like as Asad Qaiser, Omar Ayub, and Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), earlier today at the Speaker House in Islamabad, the minister provided an explanation.
