A couple was imprisoned after the body of their severely emaciated son was discovered buried in the garden of their previous residence.
In Birmingham, nine months after Tai and Naiyahmi Yasharahyalah, ages 42 and 43, were forced to leave their home, the death of three-year-old Abiyah was discovered behind a house.
The two were convicted last week of Abiyah’s murder; her body was discovered at the residence on Clarence Road in Handsworth.
At Coventry Crown Court on Thursday, Tai Yasharahyalah received a 24-and-a-half-year prison sentence, while Naiyahmi Yasharahyalah received a 19-and-a-half-year sentence.
