The annual summer break for public and private schools throughout Punjab was declared by the provincial government on Friday.
According to the statement, schools in the province will observe summer break from June 1 to August 14.
Due to the extreme temperatures that are being reported in several cities throughout the nation, the Punjabi government has also shortened the hours of instruction.
Monday through Thursday, the schools will be open from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; on Fridays, they will open at 7 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, heatwave conditions are expected to develop over much of the country starting on May 21 due to the existence of high pressure in the upper atmosphere, particularly over Punjab and Sindh.
