The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established a schedule for the Senate elections, which are expected to take place on April 3 for 48 general election seats.
According to sources familiar with the situation, elections for the national and four provincial assemblies will take place on April 3.
Sindh and Punjab will each elect 12 senators, with Islamabad electing two.
Eleven new Senators will be elected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
On March 11, 52 senators will complete their terms and retire.
Those retiring include 12 from Punjab, 12 from Sindh, four senators from the former FATA, 11 seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, and two senators from Islamabad.
The four seats formerly held by the FATA will not be up for re-election under the 25th constitutional amendment.
Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) set the election schedule for the six empty Senate seats.
Six seats became vacant because Senate members were elected to other houses.
