ISLAMABAD: To find those who spread false information against the government, the government has formed a 10-member joint task team (JTF).
The panel, which was established with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s consent, will pinpoint specific organizations and groups that produce and disseminate false and misleading information.
The JTF was established in response to recent acts of terrorism and vandalism, as well as a widespread malicious effort aimed at undermining the reputation of the security forces in particular and the state in general.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister Office, a number of domestic and international media outlets are being exploited to spread false, unfounded, and provocative information that links the state apparatus to grave human rights abuses.
