RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, who was imprisoned on Saturday after being found guilty in a £190 million case, was reported by his attorney as declaring that he would not allow the governing Sharif family to take control of Al-Qadir University.
His comments were made the day after Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, declared that the university “is now under my control” and that its students would also receive scholarships.
In the well-known £190 million corruption case, an accountability court in Rawalpindi sentenced the PTI founder and his wife, Bushra Bibi, to 14 and 7 years in prison, respectively, on Friday.
