KARACHI: According to authorities on Sunday, two young boys and a father died after slipping into a 120-foot-deep submersible pump well in a Karachi neighborhood.
The terrible event happened on Sunday night inside the grounds of a house close to Fawara Chowk in Garden East.
The boys, who were 8 and 12 years old, were reportedly “jumping” on the well’s lid when it abruptly gave way under their weight. The victims plummeted to the bottom, where a submersible water pump was placed, according to witnesses.
The local plumber was summoned by the terrified villagers to descend the well and save the kids, but sadly, the plumber too perished when the rope he was clinging to broke.
