At a news conference, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared that Canadians would be able to save a significant amount of money on their purchases for two months.
“Our government can put more money in people’s pockets to provide them the relief they need, even while we can’t regulate checkout prices. We are here to assist those who are experiencing financial hardship.
The interim plan, which was announced Thursday, will remove sales tax on a specific selection of products for two months during the holiday season.
