Ten women were raped and sexually abused in apartments throughout Dundee by a Romanian grooming group, which was found guilty.
Between 2021 and 2022, the four males and one woman also sold drugs to their victims, who were between the ages of 16 and 30.
At Glasgow’s High Court, Marian Cumpanasoiu, 37; Remus Stan, 34; Cristian Urlateanu, 41; Cataline Dobre, 44; and Alexandra Bugonea, 34, were found guilty on 30 counts.
After a police investigation into the trafficking of women from eastern Europe who were compelled to work as prostitutes in Dundee, the abuse was discovered.
Vulnerable local women were also being recruited, according to intelligence, with many receiving gifts and narcotics, including crack cocaine.
The women were urged to join the group and coerced into having sex with them.
