The move has already been agreed upon with Rwanda, the east African nation, and is unrelated to the government’s proposal to send refugees there to have their claims processed, according to news.
The purpose of the new relocation program is to remove immigrants who are unable to return home but do not have the legal right to remain in the UK.
The payment plan has not yet been verified by the Home Office, but it has stated that it is “exploring voluntary relocations… to Rwanda.”.
According to The news, it will be targeted at people who can be quickly transported to Rwanda, which the government considers a secure third country, and who do not currently have an open asylum claim.
