The US president urged Congress to continue aiding Ukraine in its war effort against Russia at his State of the Union address, stating that “history is watching.”
Speaking in the House, Mr. Biden stated: “Ukraine will be in danger if the United States withdraws its support at this time. Europe is in danger. The free world is under danger, giving those who want to harm us more confidence.
“I have a brief message for President Putin. We are not going to give up. We refuse to submit. I refuse to submit.”
Mr. Biden immediately shifted his focus to his Republican rival and predecessor, Donald Trump, denouncing his previous remarks regarding Russia, wherein he implied that he would encourage Moscow to launch attacks on news allies who did not augment defense budgets.
