KARACHI: The rising prominence of Pakistan’s young squash talent in international competition was demonstrated by the outstanding performance of Pakistani junior squash players at the Scottish Junior Open Squash 2024 in Edinburgh, where they won four titles and finished third in three age groups.
In straight games, Sohail Adnan defeated Spain’s Itzel Reguero Garcia in the Boys’ U13 final, displaying impeccable skill and poise. Sohail demonstrated his technical skill and smart play with a resounding victory of 11-3, 11-5, and 11-6.
In the meantime, Huzaifa Shahid played a five-game match against Singapore’s Rehaan Singh in the Boys’ U15 final, displaying excellent nerve control. Despite dropping two games that were hotly contested, Huzaifa maintained composure to win 11-6, 11-6, 8-11, 11-13, and 11-7.
