Regarding the potential extension of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa’s term, Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has issued a strong statement, saying that the top judge would never accept even if he was granted one.
Speaking on TV’s “Redline with Talat,” he stated that although he does not discuss specific judges, the judicial system urgently needs reforms. He claimed that certain individuals and the administrative apparatus of the judiciary have created bottlenecks that prevent the system from operating smoothly.
The made it clear that the bill to raise the number of judges was not the initiative of the government.
