The decision by Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) to end their week-long sit-ins in several parts of Karachi, the nation’s economic center, is a relief to Karachiites.
MWM Chairman Allama Raja Nasir Abbas claimed in a statement late on Wednesday that a great jirga in Kohat had resulted in the signing of a peace deal amongst the Kurram’s opposing tribes.
He declared that the peace deal achieved with the warring tribes’ permission will put a stop to sit-ins nationwide. The MWM chief went on to say, “The government now has the responsibility to carry out the agreement.”
Hours after the two Kurram warring tribes signed a 14-point peace agreement to bring about harmony in the district, the development occurred.
