Even with his success, Craig Morgan claims he still feels more at home in the military than in the country music industry.
The singer-songwriter joined the US Army in 1989, and while his music career took off, he spent nearly ten years of active duty in the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions. After that, he joined the Army Reserve. Morgan served in the reserves for an additional seven and a half years before deciding to devote all of his time to music.
Morgan’s calling to serve the underprivileged continued long after he was discharged from the military. He journeyed to Thailand in 2017 as part of the charitable group Exodus Road in an effort to save kids from being trafficked. Afterwards, in July 2023, Morgan.
Being in the military is “more natural” for Craig Morgan than being a successful country music artist. “It’s inherited”.
