In new research, a government consultant on social cohesion warns that harassment is a “much wider problem” in society.

Dame Sara Khan chatted with Trevor Phillips on Sunday morning before a newly compiled report of hers was released.

It was discovered that over 75% of people believe they are unable to express their opinions, and about 27% have made lifestyle changes such as hiring security or changing occupations.

As part of her recommendations, Dame Sara suggests that protests be prohibited within 150 meters of schools, with the exception of picketing instructors.”In the last few months, the focus has been on how public figures and members of parliament have been at the forefront of experiencing this level of harassment and censorship,” Dame Sara stated.

For the first time, my report will demonstrate that this is a far larger issue in our society that affects individuals from all areas of life.

“I’m talking about councillors, journalists, teachers, and academics—those working in the arts and cultural sector—who are experiencing severe levels of harassment and abuse, which is then resulting in them self-censoring.”
