Mel B recently advocated for improved budget allocation and legal systems that are more considerate to victims of domestic abuse in a heartfelt speech at the World Economic Forum.
As a patron of Women’s Aid, Melanie Brown, better known by her stage as Mel B, spoke out against domestic abuse and advocated for a more pragmatic approach in which “actions” are more important than words.
“The government just allocates a little bit of money each year, but they end up spending millions (of pounds) because of the police service, because they have to have a safe house,” the former Spice Girl remarked in reference to the financial system.
She stressed the point made by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a speech in Parliament about Mel’s work.
