Following fruitful discussions with the federal government about the deregulation strategy, the All Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (APPDA) canceled its strike plan for March 4 (tomorrow) on Monday.
“Petroleum dealers have taken back their strike call for tomorrow,” an APPDA official said after the group’s negotiations with Petroleum Minister Dr. Musadik Malik.
According to people with knowledge of the situation, both parties decided that the dealers’ association will be included in the petroleum industry’s deregulation process.
“Our negotiations with the government have been successful,” declared APPDA central spokesperson Noman Ali Butt in a statement to reporters. According to him, the petroleum minister gave them the assurance that the deregulation process would not have an impact on the dealers’ profit margin.
