In their first statement following an investigation into their behavior, the couple who founded PinkNews referred to reports of sexual misbehavior at the company as “false, inconsistent, and malicious.”
In an open letter published on the PinkNews website, Benjamin Cohen and Anthony James accused each other of deceiving the public in their response to the probe.
In a BBC program, thirty current and former PinkNews employees said that a culture of excessive drinking resulted in incidents of inappropriate behavior from both Dr. James and Mr. Cohen.
According to Mr. Cohen and Dr. James, an ongoing criminal investigation prevented them from responding at first. “In the public interest” is how the BBC described their report.
