The mascot of the language-learning program Duolingo, Duo, often known as “The Duolingo Owl,” passed away, the company reported.
The owl’s cause of death is being looked into by “authorities,” according to Duolingo, but “to be honest, he probably died waiting for you to do your lesson, but what do we know?”
In a statement, the firm added, “We acknowledge that he had a lot of enemies, but we respectfully ask that you not express your hatred for him in the comments section.”
He persistently encouraged millions of people to complete their language classes for years, sometimes with gently prodding and other times with uncontrollable tenacity. However, even the most tenacious birds have a limit to how much they can handle.
