As Tropical Cyclone Dana approached, almost one million people were evacuated from areas along the eastern coast of India on Thursday, October 24.
Schools, airports, and train services have already been closed in light of this.
With wind gusts between 100 and 120 km/h (62 and 74 mph), the storm is predicted to strike coastal regions.
According to reports, people of West Bengal, a neighboring state, have also been evacuated.
West Bengal evacuated about 300,000 people from coastal areas, and Odisha evacuated over a million people from 14 districts.
According to the weather service, there will likely be a lot of rain in the next 24 hours.
Mohan Charan Majhi, the chief minister of Odisha, promised that every preparation was taken to address each of these circumstances.
“We are ready to handle the storm,” he declared.
