During the Dodgers’ game against the Chicago White Sox, the team’s bat boy was standing on the dugout steps when a foul ball came speeding toward him.
The star player for the Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani, was standing right behind the bat boy and was not looking up as the ball whizzed toward the dugout.
The bat kid responded fast and grabbed the ball out of the air as everyone ducked.
As soon as he realized what he had done, he quickly gave the ball to a fan sitting behind the screen, directly next to him.

Ohtani in particular, along with the other Dodgers players and coaches, were in awe. You can see that Ohtani was going to talk to the bat boy before the video goes off, maybe congratulating him for his bravery.
MLB stadiums frequently advise fans to keep an eye on the field because you never know where a foul ball can land.
It’s especially true for players, coaches, and staff working in dugouts because foul balls can fly in their direction at any time.
Even though Ohtani was wearing his helmet, he could have suffered a major injury if the ball had fouled him.
