Pakistan called the horrific incident in Turkiye that killed at least five persons on Wednesday a heinous act and strongly condemned it.
Two assailants killed five people and injured 22 others during the attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries’ headquarters near Ankara. At the scene, witnesses claimed to have heard gunfire and a loud explosion.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya called the incident a terrorist act and confirmed the attackers were slain. Three of the injured, he said, are in critical condition.
TV footage captured the attackers as they broke inside the TUSAŞ building.
The Pakistani government sent its “heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims” and conveyed its hope for a positive outcome in a statement released earlier today by the country’s foreign office.
