A new admission policy for the Rawalpindi division, which will take effect from January 15 to May 31, as well as a detailed schedule of educational events and annual exams have been announced by the Punjab Education Department.
An official circular states that the academic year 2025–2026 will start on April 1. On February 3, early-grade admissions will open for Junior Class Prep and Nursery Class I.
Matriculation exams start on March 4, Class IX exams start on March 21, and Intermediate exams start the first week of May, according to the annual examination schedule.
Admissions in government schools will occur in two phases:
Phase 1: April 1 to May 31 for Classes I and II.
Phase 2: August 15 to October 31 for additional intakes.
