Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has made a comment regarding holding direct talks with the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has harshly criticised this statement, terming it a direct attack on the federation.
Speaking at a Peshawar Bar Council Association event the day before, Chief Minister Gandapur declared that his “province is bleeding” as a result of an increase in terrorist attacks and that his province was sending a delegation of the provincial government to neighboring Afghanistan to hold talks and resolve bilateral issues without waiting for approval from the federal government.
Speaking on the National Assembly floor on Thursday, Asif claimed that the provicial chief executive was not supposed to make the comment.
