ISLAMABAD Afghan Chargé d’Affaires Mawlawi Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb responded to Islamabad’s security-related grievances to Kabul by declaring on Tuesday that Afghanistan will not permit terrorist organizations to exploit its territory against Pakistan.
He was giving a speech at the Institute of Regional Studies’ (IRS) “Strengthening Economic Ties between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Central Asia” seminar.
Since the Taliban government regained control of neighboring Afghanistan in 2021, Pakistan has seen an increase in militant attacks, primarily in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region in the northwest, but also in southwestern Balochistan, which borders both Afghanistan and Iran.
Islamabad charges that the interim government in Kabul has not done enough to expel militants who are hiding on Afghan territory in order to launch attacks against Pakistan.
