In the 2016 film The Accountant, Ben Affleck excelled not only with his sharp mathematical skills but also with his ability to casually bump off individuals. According to reports, the movie’s sequel will be released this year.
The second installment, which was previously directed by Gavin O’Connor of Warrior, was apparently long-planned.
The sequel had been delayed, meanwhile, due to the Argo star’s busy schedule, which included directorial work and movies involving DC visits.
However, according to Deadline, the project is scheduled to begin this year and be completed by 2025.
Ben previously told Collider candidly about his status as The Accountant 2.
“We’ve discussed it. Whether or not to adapt it into a TV series appears to be up for dispute. Bill Dubuque, the scriptwriter, has achieved considerable success.
observing, “And somebody said to me, ‘Well if we could find a script that we could retrofit and make into a sequel.”
He went on, “But that’s sort of tricky because the personality of the character is so specific, that doesn’t really work to just say, ‘Well, we used call this script Action Movie Shootout, and now we’re going to call it The Accountant 2.'”
