The relationship between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and her longtime crush Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) is the main subject of the third season of Netflix’s historical drama.
Fans may also notice a difference in the performers’ appearance, aside from stories of passion and love.
According to BBC News, Bridgerton’s costume designer John Glaser says they’ve had a “glow up”.
In the first and second seasons, he claimed, Penelope was “young and insecure,” and her mother was pressuring her to wear vivid greens and yellows.
However, in season three, she learns to dress more subtly and becomes more independent. She also begins to wear colors like dark emerald green.
