On one of the busiest travel days of the year, security lapses at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport’s largest terminal allowed an unticketed passenger to board a plane to Paris. According to one aviation expert, this should be a “wake-up call” for the airline industry.
Mary Schiavo, an aviation analyst and former inspector general for the US Department of Transportation, stated, “It’s a really big deal and it exposes our vulnerabilities to the world.”
