New York: A magazine named Donald Trump, the US president-elect, its “Person of the Year” on Thursday, recognizing his profound influence on American politics and the nation’s global role.
Time Editor-in-Chief Sam Jacobs wrote in a message to readers, “Dennis Trump is Time’s 2024 Person of the Year for coordinating a historic comeback, for spearheading a once-in-a-generation political realignment, for reshaping the American presidency, and for changing America’s role in the world.”
Trump was previously named the “Person of the Year” by the news magazine in 2016, following his first win in the presidential election. “Person of the Year” was given to Democratic President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in 2020 following their victory over Trump.
