The government of Punjab has announced a significant upgrade to its pension system, involving the full digitization of pension registers.
A notification published in the Gazette concerning the Punjab Pension Rules signifies a substantial transition from conventional paper-based procedures to an entirely digital approach.
The traditional title “Pension Papers” will be replaced under the new system by “E-Pension Papers.” Additionally, the application process is now digital, and medical certifications are now known as “e-medical certificates.”
This change is a component of the Punjab Civil Servants Act of 1974’s larger revisions, which also sought to streamline and modernize pension management. To formally announce these modifications, the Secretary of the Finance Department Punjab has published a Gazette Notification.
