Russian President Vladimir Putin underlined in a recent interview on Wednesday that Russia is prepared to use nuclear weapons if necessary, according to NBC News.
However, Putin cautioned that the world is not inexorably going for a nuclear conflict. He focused on Russia’s cutting-edge nuclear weapons and claimed that he believes President Joe Biden understands how escalation may have terrible implications.
These remarks were made only days before the March 15-17 presidential elections, in which Putin is anticipated to be re-elected for a fifth term, giving him control of the country for another six years.
This is the second time in just a week that Putin has employed nuclear hyperbole, and experts are concerned about rising antagonism.
During the conversation, Putin discussed the potential of Western countries joining the battle in Ukraine while also warning of the dangers of nuclear war.
He claimed that American infantry in Russia or Ukraine would be viewed as an invasion. However, he added that Joe Biden’s diplomatic skills and the presence of experts in Washington would serve as deterrents.
