ISLAMABAD According to a list released by financial news portal Argaam on Monday, Pakistani scientist Dr. Mehmood Khan has become the latest member of an elite group of global professionals to be granted Saudi citizenship. The News reported this information.
Currently, Dr. Khan holds the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Hevolution Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the development of anti-aging drugs, expanding access to therapies that prolong human lifespans, and increasing the number of treatments connected to ageing.
After Riyadh offered its citizenship to highly skilled people as part of its Vision 2030, which aims to attract and retain extraordinary global talent to promote the country’s economic and social development, he was granted the Kingdom’s citizenship.
In 2021, the Kingdom adopted a royal decree that permitted those in specialized fields—like science, medicine, culture, sports, and technology—to petition for citizenship.
Additionally, Dr. Khan was listed among the top performers who were granted Saudi citizenship this week at Argaam.
Nonetheless, the Pakistani scientist admitted in a 2015 interview at OPEN Silicon Valley that he was “proud to be a Pakistani” despite never having the opportunity to grow up there.
