In Hainault, northeast London, on Tuesday, there were reports of an attacker brandishing a sword. Two Metropolitan Police officers were among those injured during their response.
Marcus Aurelio Arduini Monzo, a 36-year-old dual citizen of Brazil and Spain who resides in Newham, east London, has been identified as the person charged.
In addition, he faces charges of two grievous bodily harm counts, two counts of attempted murder, aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed article.
On Thursday, Monzo is scheduled to appear in Barkingside Magistrates’ Court.
The families of all those affected by the tragedy have been informed.
