Axel Rudakubana, a knife attacker, has entered a guilty plea to killing three young girls during a dance lesson in Southport with a Taylor Swift theme.
In a “meticulously planned rampage” on July 29, 2018, the 18-year-old stabbed nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar, six-year-old Bebe King, and seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, along with ten other people.
Prosecutors claimed that Rudakubana had “shown no remorse” before his trial at Liverpool Crown Court began, but he suddenly entered guilty pleas to all charges, including murder, attempted murder, and offenses related to terrorism.
The judge apologized to the families of the victims who were not present in court, stating that “we had all assumed” that the trial would begin in earnest on Tuesday.
