A day after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) put on a much-heralded power show in Islamabad with flamboyant speeches and “threats,” a number of federal ministers and senators denounced the firebrand leader of the main opposition party, Ali Amin Gandapur, for making disparaging remarks at the event.
During the occasion on Sunday, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa declared that in the face of any hindrances or constraints, “we will have him freed ourselves if the founder of the PTI is not legally released within one to two weeks.”
Despite heavy security, the former ruling party staged a public rally with the goal of demanding the quick release of Imran Khan, the party’s founding chairman, from prison. There were fights and a breach of the rally’s deadline.
