In Bannu, prominent locals and tribal leaders gathered for a large-scale peace jirga. All present gave their unqualified support to the Pakistan Army’s efforts to uphold peace and drive out terrorist forces.
The jirga’s participants conveyed their respect for the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army and security personnel. They all promised to work with the local government to stop and neutralize any militant activity or disruptive forces that could arise.
The primary guest of the jirga was Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, who is the General Officer Commanding Kohat. The chance was seized by the tribal elders and notables to praise the Pakistan Army’s initiatives in advancing healthcare and education in the area, with a focus on girls’ education in particular.
