ISLAMABAD In a warning released on Wednesday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) warned of the potential for flash floods and urban flooding caused by monsoon rainfall in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other parts of the nation.
According to the NDMA’s Emergencies Operation Centre, from July 17 to 21, monsoon rains and thundershowers are predicted in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Islamabad, KP, and central and northeastern Punjab, with sporadic breaks that could cause flash flooding and urban flooding.
The warning is issued against the backdrop of the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) announcement on Monday that the weather system will bring with it new bouts of rain, wind, and thundershowers to all four provinces, including the territories of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and AJK.
