Daisy Ridley is opening up about how harshly she was received for the controversial Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Actress from the science fiction genre, Josh Horowitz, said, “I think it’s still upsetting, because you don’t want people to feel like you’ve not served the thing they’re a fan of.”
“But [The Last Jedi] was so polarizing, so it felt like the first one was fairly… everyone responded in a similar way,” she went on. Then there was the extremely polarizing Rian’s one, and the extremely polarizing last one. It didn’t alter my feelings on it.”
However, the 31-year-old talked about how she felt about her character’s continued appeal to fans even after the trilogy was finished.
Strangely, five individuals approached me the day before I had brunch with Kathy Kennedy the previous year and asked, ‘Are they going to do any more with you?’
Observing, “And it was quite peculiar.” People’s reactions to me in the about six to eight months before to it were very different from how they had been previously.”
“And it seemed like time had just flown by… That’s what was extremely odd, then.
Daisy will reprise her role as Rey in a future Star Wars film in the meantime.
